ABSTRACT
In this study, the etiopathogenesis of metabolic syndrome parameters was discussed and it was pointed out that malonyl-CoA, a lipogenic glucose metabolite, might be responsible for a common mechanism in hyperinsulinemia and insulin resistance , triglyceride synthesis and storage, cholesterol synthesis and the developmen t of ischemic heart disease.
